SEIZURE CRYPT
Press Release
Seizure Crypt’s self-titled debut CD, recorded on a Roland
digital eight track home studio workstation, with the expertise of Juan
Rodriguez, shows the band’s warm, yet ferocious sound. Described as
maniacal speed-core, with fast driving rhythms that stop on a dime.
Seizure Crypt delivers, with extreme conviction, a sound mixed with
passion and fury.
The first track, ”No Room Left to
Bleed,” a fast and furious start that deals with a person coming of age
after being mistreated, neglected, and abused as a child. Instead of
using this as an excuse to be a “fuck up, ” turn these negatives into
positives and find your place and where you stand.
The second track, “The Great
Defector,” family once again being the issue, deals with vocalist Tom’s
own father and Tom’s struggle to understand and survive his [father’s]
reign.
Social and political aspects lie at
the core of this band’s mantra. ”Death Rider” is a song that is a bit of
a gag, although not exactly politically correct. This song explains the
absolute frustration of driving an automobile in downtown Flushing,
Queens, N.Y.
“In-Human Nature,” a song about a
subject the band takes very seriously…THE MEDIA.
A tune about how poisonous the news
media is, and how we as human beings thrive off of other’s misfortunes.
Next up, a song dealing with
stalkers, and how dangerous they really are. Appropriately titled,
“Stalk” shows a melodic side of the band, breaking from the furious
speed-core style. A slower, metal paced rhythm breaks the song down with
an excellent hook capping the end.
“Chompin’ at the Bit,” a song
starting off with a catchy beginning, blasting through the opening lines
with irate speed-core; ”I told you I would be back, spitting nails,
pissing venom, I don’t care who knows, this time I won’t be stopped…”The
first lines say it all.
To sum up the madness is “Herein the
Problem Lies,” a summation of the entire CD. We as humans are built to
destroy, it is in our nature, ”jus smart enough to fuck things up”…every
day we kill a little more of Mother Earth. All things we label as
problems are created by the biggest problem of all, us.
Seizure Crypt is built on a love for music and the freedom of
expression, without the fancy trimmings. An almost salute to those that
preceded us.
