NEWS: |
|
February 17th, 2007
- We would like to announce
the joining of Mr. Brian Kiminski to the Seizure
Crypt fold on bass guitar. Brian is an experienced
player with ten years behind the strings, as well as
an experienced band player with past projects in the
NYC Punk/Hardcore scene, making him the perfect fit
the band craves. Our first show with Brian will be
Saturday March 31st (see the show section for
details). I want to take this moment to welcome
Brian to band! |
|
|
|
February 9th, 2007
- ...many days and hours
later the layouts for the new Seizure Crypt CD are
finally complete! Many, many thanks to the Seizure
Crypt webmaster for all the assistance laying out a
complete CD booklet, also thanks to Helen Papapostoulos for lending of her digital camera
several times. The new Seizure Crypt CD has a
tentative release date of April 1st, 2007. |
|
|
|
January 24th, 2007
- 2007 is in full swing as the
band was added to another comp entitled "The New
York City/Peoples Republic of China Punk/Hardcore
compilation". Featuring bands such as Victims, The
Angry Jerks from China, and local favorites like No
Redeeming Social Value, Yo!Scunt, and Caught In A
Trap. This will mark the first release from the
Flathouse Records Label with distribution on both
sides of the world. |
|
|
|
January 21st, 2007
- Seizure Crypt was just added
to the Scratch Magazine compilation out of
California. The magazine represents a mixture of
skateboarding and music culture. There will be two
songs on the comp, the first US releases of
"Thankless" and "Eulogy" from their upcoming CD
release. The pressing of the comp will be 5,000
along with an 80,000 magazine circulation of the
first CD promo ads. The band is still trying out
bass players along with a slew of new material being
written as the Queens crazies gear up for another
round of rapid fire gigging and promotion in support
of the new CD. |
|
|
|
January 2nd, 2007
- ...and so goes another year.
Hello all, and we are still searching for a bass
player. Tonight we had a great rehearsal, working on
new stuff and trying out a bass guitarist. Our first
performance of 2007 is booked already, March 31st,
all ages, at VFW hall in College Point, N.Y. (see
shows). We continue to design the packaging for our
second CD. |

|
|
December 17th, 2006
- As the search for a new
bassist continues, we have been writing and
practicing a lot in our little studio in Whitestone.
We want to keep very sharp so there will be not a
blip on our radar screen when the new member arrives
and we can get back out and spread mania. We have
two new songs that we have finished in the last
week, with many more on the way. The first of which
is called "In This Day", which is about our lives in
a post 9/11 world, and "Fight To Kill", that meaning
we will leave to the imagination. The songs are in
true Seizure Crypt style built to batter you
senseless in the shortest time possible. |
|
|
|
December 13th, 2006
- We have the mastered copies
of the new CD which will be released this winter
'07. We would like to thank Don Fury for all of his
expertise on capturing the sound we all desired. The
CD is an explosive 25 minute assault on the senses,
if you are looking to take a bat and break your room
apart then this is for you. A title for the record
has been chosen, but it wouldn't be Seizure Crypt
without a little intrigue. So as soon as the CD
drops, a brand new promotional onslaught will be
begin and you will know the name of the CD.....get
ready for round 2!! |

|
November 28th, 2006
- So it was supposed to be
Metal Monday @ Lit Lounge, actually it was No One
Monday @ Lit Lounge. Three bands performed musical
sets, the first was Hallowed Tree, then Diesel
Theory (N.J.), and lastly Seizure Crypt. This place
is
SMALL and a fire trap. Really only one way out from
the basement, claustrophobic style. Anyway, we'll
try again next time. This concludes Seizure Crypt's
"Fuck Pay To Play Tour 2006". Check back soon to see
the full 2006 show dates past. |
|
|
|
November 25th, 2006
- We played Breffini's last
night with Caught In A Trap, Yo!Scunt, Straphangers,
and The East Coast Scammers on Queens Blvd, and as
it turns out, it will be the last hard music show at
the club. The show was killer, the crowd inspired,
much antics and crushing live performances by all.
Great end to the upstart night!! |
|
|
|
November 17th, 2006
- Bar 131 - Lisa's Birthday
party bash was a collection of crushing musical
performances (Lisa works the Bar 131 website, does
Bad Elephant promotion, and helps out with Skull
Fracture Fridays) which is what this was, Skull
Fracture Friday @ Bar 131, put on by Bad Elephant
Productions. First up was Seizure Crypt with their
two panic stricken front men. Next, College Point
natives Dehumanized brought their grueling,
scraping, crunching death metal sound into Bar 131,
and lastly Asystole performed an interesting set of
music. Below The Heavens did not show up. All in all
a great night. Did you get some pot brownies? |
|
|
|
October 21st, 2006
- We played an absolutely sick
show last night with Southside Panic, Yo!Scunt, and
Caught In A Trap, with a horror art display by Cardillo at Bar 131 here in Queens. Fucking packed
liked sardines people nearly passed out from the heat,
the word of Seizure Crypt mania is spreading. We
want to say thanks to all the bands for playing and Cardillo for an excellent art display. For those
that didn't make it don't feel bad, there was no
room to put you!!

October 20th, 2006
- Seizure Crypt is currently
working on their new CD. As of right now, it's in
the mastering stages. No title as of yet. |

|
September 27th, 2006
- A busy little weekend we
had, we played Breffini's again Friday the 22nd on
Queens Blvd with All The Heathers Are Dying, Yo!
Scunt, The Ray Grady's, and Lost And No One Knows.
Cool show, small crowd (around 40) and the bands
really kicked ass!! Saturday we finished the final
mix of the new CD, with mastering in the coming
weeks. While Doug is gallivanting the country for
the next 3 weeks in search of adventure we will be
working on some tracks that Doug and I had demoed
before he left. Some of the new songs being worked
into the Seizure Crypt library "Bigger Than
Politics" and "In This Day". We will be playing days
after Doug's return on Friday, October 20th, and
Saturday, October 21st. |
|
|
|
September 20th, 2006
- We just finished recording
the new record with mix down going on all day this
Saturday and mastering during the week. The sound is
vicious, hyper and explosive. No name for the record
as of yet but that will be decided in the coming
days. Back to some gigs while the CD master will be
sent for pressing, get ready for the next Seizure
Crypt record! Check seizurecrypt.com in the coming
days and weeks to get all the information on the new
record. See you in a few days. |
|
|
|
September 17th,
2006
- We finished all the drum, guitar, and bass tracks
this weekend with 11 hour sessions each day. The
sound is great and all that we envisioned is in it's
proper place with all vocal tracks aimed to be
completed on Tuesday, mix down on Saturday, and
mastering if all goes well the rest of the week. See
you Tuesday. |

|
|
September 15th, 2006
- We just entered Cyclone
Sound Studios in Coney Island with producer Don
Fury. The studio is comfortable with a great view of
the boardwalk from out back, with Nathan's down the
block (cheese dogs and stomach aches for all). We
did all the sound checks of instruments, and some
play back on a few seconds of "The Great Defector".
Sounds really good, the band was satisfied and we
start the tracking today at 5pm. |
|
|
|
September 12th, 2006 -
We played the Wreckroom Sunday
night in Brooklyn with Reclaim The Crown, Downlow,
and the Muggs. Great place, great vibe, and cool
crowd that supports. We had a fucking blast, and
with 32oz bottles of Newcastle Ale, you know it was
a good night. We want to say thanks to Ted and the
Wreckroom for putting on a cool show, and for giving
a shit about bands that need places to play. We also
want to say thank you to all the new heads that were
checking out the Crypt sound, as well as all the
bands for blowing it up, till the next one! |
|
|
|
September 3rd, 2006
- The band will be at Cyclone
Sound recordings from 9/15 to 9/17 with legendary
hardcore producer Don Fury. The bands growth has
been immense since "The City of New York" was
recorded, broadening on their hyper style, as well
as the debut of Bishop Nazz on guitar, and Ivan
Serge on bass respectively. Some tracks include
"Enigma", "Thankless", "Where The Bodies Are Buried"
and "Eulogy". Again this is the Seizure Crypt
commentary on the social and political trials of our
little world, as well as some new topics that we
really have a bug up our ass about. Keep checking
the site for our music, we want to bang this one out
quick!! |

August 25th, 2006
- Huge thanks to all who participated at the Bar 131
show (Dead Letter Box, Reclaim the Crown, Wait Until
Dark, and Yo! Scunt). It was a fairly packed house
(for a local bar in College Point), every one was
into the bands performing this night. Semblance of a
mosh pit broke out at certain points of the night,
in fact some band members got swept up into the
madness. There was even a juggling act of swords by
the guitarist of Yo! Scunt. All in all a successful
show. Thank you to BAR 131. We'll do it again. |

|
August 5th, 2006 -
Seizure Crypt played at Breffni's Inn and Bar on the
28th of July. A show that we took on the 25th of
July on short notice. Well, as it turns out, the
first “act” was a guy going by the name "hodom" (I
think). It was him, his guitar, and some
pre-recorded drum machine with bass lines and rhythm
guitar. He played all solos as well as vocals,
strange but he plays guitar well though.
Next up was Seizure Crypt, we played for two
girlfriends of the band, one of their friends, and
a friend of the bassist in the band. All in all we had
a great rehearsal.
And last was a three piece band, Lain, which played
bass thru the P.A. (so in the other words there was
no bass sound). The bassist did vocalize for the
band, though brutally. The guitarist was crushing,
as was the drummer. They brought their own private
crowd, which thrashed around loyally.
Doesn't seem the night at Breffni's was advertised
all that well. Also, there were three cancellations,
and one no show. Seizure Crypt and Hodom were last
minute fill ins.
We'll try again. Thanks Breffni's Inn and Bar. |

July 23rd, 2006
-
We played our first show out of state as
Seizure Crypt yesterday in Hamlin PA, an all ages
event sponsored by The Few and True Bookings. A very
healthy crowd punched, kicked, back flipped and
terrorized to the manic pace and ballistic fury the
band was spurting forth. Our fellow NYC mates
Desolate blistered through a tight, excellent
sounding set that also had the crowd in hysterics.
NYC was well represented. I would like to thank
Randy and crew of Few and True Bookings for putting
on a killer event and all the bands that ripped it,
slammed it, and killed it. You guys rule!!! To some
new fans and friends and all the people of Hamlin,
thank you, we will be back soon!!

July 5th, 2006 - Since the band fully formed on
February 25, 2006 it has been full speed ahead. With
a set list of ten songs and two more on the way, as
well as eight summer shows, hundreds of networking
contacts, along with a top 15 debut on PA radio
90.7, Seizure Crypt has been making the most of
every minute (as you can tell I haven't given you a
piece of news in a month....sorry!!). Check out the
bands new song on the road, "Where The Bodies Are
Buried", which has to do with vocalist Tom's
experiences as an EMS worker here in NYC, another
panicked anthem by the speedcore crazies. |
|
|
|
June

May
2nd, 2006 - Seizure Crypt has just been added
to the to the Club 590 Battle of the Bands in Hamlin
PA on Saturday, August 27th, along with 9 other
bands competing. In other Crypt news, the band is
just finishing the touches on their newest song
"Eulogy", which deals with the coming to terms with
the end of something that was once special but
became far to ugly to look away from any longer.
True to the multi dimensional style kept within the
bands own intentional parameters of a short, violent
and explosive foundation of song writing. "Eulogy"
provides another layer of the bands growing library
of short, quick and lethal speed core. |

|
